On 06 February 2018, the Chairman of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration Igor Gundych signed a memorandum on cooperation with the Belgian company Upgrade Energy, which intends to build a powerful solar power plant on the territory of Meleni village council of Korosten district.
“I am glad to know that such an experienced company enters the solar energy market of Ukraine, and has chosen Zhytomyr region among all other regions. You have made the right choice. We cooperate with many investors from abroad and pay much attention to them. My colleagues and I will take all measures to provide the largest possible assistance”, said Igor Gundych.
The solar power plant will create up to 45 jobs. Its power capacity will be 25-30 MW. The expected amount of investments – EUR 21-24 million.
The General Manager of Upgrade Energy Raf Vermeire noted that this is his first investment experience in Ukraine. The project will be implemented by Irshanskaya SES LLC (Zhytomyr). Currently contracts for lease of land plots have been concluded. The project is planned to be implemented within the next two years.
